Make sure the thermostat is in AC (or cool) mode and that the batteries are working.
Is the power on to the AC unit outside? By the AC unit outside there is usually a large breaker; make sure that is set to the “on” position.
Are the breakers for the AC and Furnace to the “on” position?
Is the furnace filter clean? If not; replace the filter as air conditioners need adequate air flow to work. After changing the filter allow 24 hours to see if the system begins to operate/cool.
Do you see the lines inside the furnace frozen or water at the base of your furnace/air handler? Turn the AC unit off for 24 hours to let it thaw out. This may be caused by a dirty filter; remove and replace the filter. If the lines freeze again then turn the unit off and call for service.

Is the furnace filter clean? A dirty filter will block air flow and can cause a number of problems that can turn into costly repairs.
Is the vent outside covered by ice/snow and blocking airflow.
